David, what makes work at Improvin' exciting?
It’s many things: the purpose, the people, the speed.
I really believe in our product. We can offer a rare win-win: advance sustainability while providing business value.
Work in such companies is energizing, and I enjoy the quick twists and turns. Despite the speed, everyone here is moving towards the same goal.
What made you choose Improvin’?
This quote has always resonated with me: “The things you focus on tend to grow.”
Throughout my career, I’ve worked with companies that strive for a positive impact. I want to feel that my work has a direct contribution, so I’ve stayed in startups and small companies.Given the chance to choose my next role, it feels important to choose with care and choose purpose when I can.
Before Improvin’, I was working in health tech, and knew that my next move could be within the climate side of impact. I got this role recommended to me, which led me to reach out: "I think I could be what you’re looking for."
Even before signing, I got to meet most of the team. I immediately felt that these are my kind of people.
What really stuck out to me was how everyone treated me in the process. To give an example, before my first day, everyone had reached out to greet and welcome me.
That gesture alone meant so much.
Thoughts about he team?
I’ve been struck by how competent and professional the team is. Everyone’s incredibly skilled, and we expect great things of ourselves.
It feels really motivating to work with great people who know what they’re doing, and whose values align with mine.
You're a BMX and fixie rider - tell us more!
I’ve always been big on bicycles. Growing up, BMX was a huge part of my life. Or, really, anything I could do flips with: snowboarding, skateboarding, skiing, even gymnastics.
I’ve tried many hobbies, but the ones that really stuck with me have been individual sports that involve adrenaline and creative thrill, but also a community. I don’t think I’ve ever ridden BMX alone.

Nowadays, I've replaced my BMX with a fixed-gear bike that I built myself, and most of my skiing is cross-country. Since my work is abstract, I like to spend my free time with tangible things, like fixing my bikes.
I also have a young daughter, so much of my free time is spent on simple yet meaningful parenting tasks – or feeding the ducks by the nearby lake.
Dancing, especially Lindy Hop, holds a special place in my heart, too. I actually met my wife on the dance floor, and Lindy Hop is also partly the reason we moved to Sweden. We visited Stockholm for the first time for a dance camp maI ny years ago and fell in love with the country.
3 things that excite you right now?
🏅 I’ve just wrapped up my first own projects, which has been an important milestone. It’s always thrilling to see your first real contributions to the product.
💚 As a parent, it’s been rewarding to see our family become a stronger unit. Our daughter just started preschool, and we’re making it work, as a team.
🤝 I’m really looking forward to spending more time with the team and getting to know everyone better.
