Meet Burak Ardali - Senior Product Designer at Improvin'.
Burak, a passionate creative, spends time on the basketball court, jamming on the drums and playing catch and retrieve with his cats, Marga and Rita. Get to know him! 🌱
Burak, what makes working at Improvin' exciting?
The company culture - I love it! It feels great to be greeted by friendly people and smiling faces every day.
It’s amazing to work in a team that enjoys trying out new things. In the product team, we all share the mindset that nothing is impossible, it might just take time.
What made you choose Improvin’?
Before Improvin’, I worked in advertising and AdTech for many years, but I wanted a job with a clear purpose.
I was struck by Improvin’s mission and visual identity. As a designer, that one really needs to resonate. I loved the tonality, too. It felt easy to relate to.
After reading the role description, I felt that this could be a great match. From the first meeting, the environment felt safe and inviting.
Eventually, I kind of liked everything about the company. And I still do.
How's the team? 🌱
The team chemistry is great. My teammates make me confident that we can build anything together if we decide so.
We share a lot of creative inspiration. Recently, I was inspired by a visual feature in a city-building game, Manor Lords. I used it to build one prototype and got excited feedback from the team. It was really cool to see.
Among the little things, our snack bar definitely tops my list.
We refill the selection regularly from Matsmart. Their dried mango is my absolute favorite.
What’s the out-of-office Burak interested in?
I grew up playing basketball, and I still play today. Our team, Vallentuna Eagles, plays in Division 5, and it’s great fun.
I also play drums in an indie-rock band with a friend. We’re looking for a few more band members and aiming to perform live next summer.
At home, I spend a lot of time with my two cats. Marga and Rita keep a close watch over the neighborhood through our tall windows.
They love a good stomach rub and are just great companions overall.
3 things that you’re looking forward to?
🇹🇷 I’m traveling to Turkey for a few months this summer. My family has a summer house in a beach town by the sea and I’m planning to try some water sports like kitesurfing.
🌞 While in Urla, Izmir, I want to explore the food scene, too. And I can’t wait for all the BBQ parties; it’s the perfect way to catch up with old friends.
🎨 At work, I’m building a design system that will make it easier to stay consistent as we grow. It’s an exciting summer project and we’re making great progress with it.
