Meet Louise Moberg - Design Lead at Improvin'
Meet Louise, the magic behind Improvin's design. Soon a silversmith, Louise is known for her impressive craft.
Hi Louise! What’s the best thing about your role?
To turn something theoretical and rather complex into something simple that people can see, understand and get excited about.
It’s amazing what you can do with design. And quite unfair actually - so much hard work goes into the back end of any solution, yet the design is often what people pay the most attention to.
I’ve always enjoyed combining ideas with craft. Before Improvin’, I worked in advertising for many years.
Now, it feels really meaningful to contribute with that experience to building a brand and developing solutions from scratch. I get a chance to stand behind it all.
You're known to be skilled with all things DIY. Could you tell us about your favorite project?
Building the crib for my eldest child was definitely a special one. I saw a beautiful crib in the store, but it was super expensive, so instead of buying it, I decided to build it. And now her baby sister is using it.
I have always enjoyed creating in all possible forms. Turning an idea into reality is an unbeatable feeling.
I love wood as a material: if something goes wrong, you can always cut off a piece, or rework it. Wood adds a bit of nature to your home, which I find beautiful.
3 things that excite you right now?
⛓️ I’m taking a class in silversmithing soon. My granddad used to do that after he retired, and I have now inherited his tools. I’m looking forward to learning the skill.
🐬 We have a lake near our house. I can’t wait for spring and summer to be able to take spontaneous swims again.
🌱 Work-wise, I’m really excited about showing the whole world what we’ve been up to and scaling what we’ve built. The planet needs positive climate news, and we have it.
